Julia Paiva co-authors book
The book Accommodating Urban Growth in Latin American and Caribbean Cities, edited by Shlomo Angel, Diego Arcia, and Jeannette Sordi, examines how cities across the region can manage rapid urbanization while advancing resilience, sustainability, and social equity. It introduces a new conceptual framework for territorial planning, featuring an Atlas of 70 cities, three detailed case studies, and conceptual essays that provide policymakers, planners, and stakeholders with actionable guidance to address inequality, infrastructure deficits, and climate change.
Julia Paiva co-authored the Atlas of 70 cities, which presents cartographies of urban density and expansion. She also authored one of the case studies—an in-depth analysis of Campo Grande, Brazil—and an essay on transit-oriented development approaches for the region.
