The University of Illinois is partnering with a local organization to empower tenants to control bedbug infestations.

Planning at Illinois faculty research teaming up with local youth program to combat bedbugs

Professors Daniel Schneider and Andrew Greenlee in addition to PhD candidate, Vinisha Singh Basnet, are working with the Housing Authority of Champaign County’s job-training program, YouthBuild, to help train local youth to become state-certified exterminators. Funding for the program will come from the UI Chancellor’s “Call to Action” research programs which funds local projects that address racism and social injustices. Read more in the News-Gazette.
