Professor Miraftab Named Distinguished Planning Educator
Professor Faranak Miraftab was recognized as the recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Educator award by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. This award represents our field’s highest award recognizing contributions to teaching and the life of students in the field of planning education. The award recognizes the importance of scholarly contributions, teaching excellence, service to the field, and contributions to planning practice. Professor Miraftab’s nominators had this to say about her distinguished contributions to the field: “Dr. Miraftab’s work has transformed planning…. Our discipline would be narrower, less compelling and more provincial without her intellectual and institutional contributions.”
Congratulations, Faranak, on this well-deserved recognition!
