Highest current priorities
If you wish to support a specific initiative, we currently have two high priorities.
First, we seek to make college and graduate school affordable, especially for diverse students whose backgrounds give them special insight into the concerns and needs of vulnerable people and communities. As well, we seek support for students who aspire to practice within Illinois. You can contribute to:

Second, we seek to enhance our ability to connect students with planning practice of all kinds. Some of this support helps bring reflective practitioners and scholars of planning practice to our campus for a day, a week, a semester, or a year. Other support allows us to support student travel individually or together with faculty to sites of practice, for anything from a weekend field trip to a learning visit of a few weeks to a multi-year engagement with a partner community, like our long-standing commitment in the East St. Louis Action Research Program (ESLARP). Faculty awards
The generosity of an anonymous donor allows us to award the Tschangho John Kim Endowed Professorship of Urban and Regional Systems. The Endowment provides faculty members with annual support for three years to enhance their research capacity, including support for graduate research assistants and other expenses. Recent Kim Professors have included Dr. Andrew Greenlee and Dr. Bumsoo Lee.
